In 2016 we cast a selection of people from the streets in London for a series of portraits for Getty Images. As the images show, our idea was to shoot a diverse range of characters and personalities, varying by everything from age to dress to lifestyle, reflecting the current popularity of authentic images containing people from everyday life.

During the shoots, our models were given very little guidance or instruction. We made this choice in order to capture their individual characteristics, such as their body language, their mood and a few hints of their lifestyle. Some chose to wear professional clothing while others preferred to reflect their identity and personal interests.

These images afford us a glimpse into the diversity of our capital city and it was satisfying to be able to reflect that in our work.
