British photographer Mike Harrington works primarily in the advertising and editorial fields of image making. His photos offer unique, conceptual takes on a wide range of subject matter, from everyday life to sport and travel.
Mike has been working as a professional photographer for over 15 years. On graduating with a First Class degree from Norwich School of Art and Design, he cut his teeth working for ITV as a staff photographer, where his high-impact photos were successfully used to promote national television productions, including drama, documentaries and family entertainment, as well as featured in ITV’s advertising campaigns.
Mike’s commercial work brought him into the studio environment, and in 2000 he set up Harrington Photography Ltd with professional studios in Norwich, UK. In 2008 Mike won ‘Best Commercial Photography’ award at the Creative East Awards 2008, and his award winning studio continues to go from strength to strength, producing powerful and appealing photographic images for its valuable clients. Four of Mike’s images have been nominated for the AOP (Association of Photographers) Open Awards 2012, and will be shown at the AOP Open Awards exhibition in October 2012.
In recent years Mike has produced a diverse portfolio of images around sporting themes, working with practising athletes and professional models to produce images that tie in with the Olympic Games London 2012 and are available through Getty Images.

Mike produces highly stylised stock photos for Getty’s rights-managed House Collections such as Stone, ImageBank and Taxi, and its royalty-free collections including Lifesize and Digital Vision. His distinctive, dynamic photography, shot predominantly in colour, has guaranteed regular commissions from a range of respected national and international publications, advertising and design agencies and brands including, among others, Northface, Marin, Virgin and Aviva.

commercial & advertising photographer Mike uses high-end digital equipment, including Phase One digital backs and medium-format cameras, which produce a high-end image of 90Mb. For editorial/lifestyle-based work, Mike continues to invest in the latest Nikon equipment.
