Case studies - Street to School

Streets to School Streets to School Streets to School
According to Aviva, one hundred thousand children in the UK run away from their homes each year, a significant proportion of whom resort to the streets. As these children often lack the most basic provisions - food, shelter, protection from harm - we photograph campaigns with Aviva called Street to School, in conjunction with children's charity The Railway Children, to help raise funds for the assistance of homeless, vulnerable youths.

Our brief for our most recent shoot involved depicting three significant stages of an affected mother's life, from a pre-school walk in the park (at the age of around, say, twenty-five) to the school run (age thirty), and then to the sorrow of contemplating her missing daughter (age forty). Using black and white photography, we aimed to create different atmospheres, from the carefree image of the girl's early years to the stark, sorrowful image of the mother standing indoors.

We understand that charities often depend upon hard-hitting imagery to convey their messages, and this campaign demonstrates our ability to fulfil challenging briefs.
